Seeking a Volunteer Social Media Manager
Do you enjoy storytelling, community engagement, and helping good work reach more people? WCG is looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager to help share the energy and impact of our community with a wider audience.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging posts, building community, and supporting local environmental and community initiatives.

What You’ll Do
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content on Facebook and Instagram
- Turn photos and highlights from recent events into social media posts
- Share teasers for newly published blog posts
- Promote upcoming events and help drive registrations
- Monitor comments, messages, and mentions to foster positive community engagement
- Help ensure content stays aligned with WCG’s mission, values, and voice
- Collaborate on social media strategies that support WCG’s goals
Nice to Have
- Interest in collaborating with partner organizations and community groups
- Comfort reviewing engagement statistics and identifying what’s working
- Curiosity about improving post performance and growing audience engagement over time
- Experience using Canva to create graphics
About the Role
This is a volunteer position with flexible hours. Most work can be done remotely, though attending occasional WCG events to capture photos and stories is encouraged.
